DIMENSIONAL SKETCH AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR BREATHE EXPRESS BAR
INTRODUCING THE OXYGEN BAR TREND IN THE U.S. Oxygen bars have been popular in Japan, Europe, Canada and with the opening of The O2Zone oxygen bar (o2zone.com) in Reno, NV in 1996, they are now in the US and more than 290 are now open around the country. This number includes the recent openings of 31 O2Zone dealers and The actor Woody Harrellson’s oxygen bar in Hollywood California (o2bar.com) in August of ‘98 and the opening of "breathe... and oxygen bar" in Las Vegas, NV in February 1999.The proclaimed benefits of breathing high purity oxygen circulate everywhere and as with anything new, they range from pure hyperbole, to sound medical sense. Due to FDA regulations, the personnel of the oxygen bar are prohibited from making any therapeutic claims as this would render oxygen a new drug. We can only say that "recreational" Oxygen and aromas are a great new experience, anyone interested in trying some pure O2 should research both the benefits and risks prior to visiting their local Oxygen bar. Most doctors say risks to a healthy adult in short usage (less than 30 minutes) are virtually nonexistent. Oxygen is a non-flammable gas that is about 21% of the air around us. People are often surprised that oxygen is non-flammable and will not ignite in the presence of a spark. Oxygen does however increase the rate of combustion in something already burning. Blowing pure oxygen on a lit cigarette will increase the burning rate until it becomes a small flame about the size produced by a cigarette lighter. No Smoking is allowed within 40 feet of a oxygen source for safety reasons. We are already breathing about 21% pure oxygen most of the rest is nitrogen, some carbon dioxide, and argon. The oxygen bar increases this to a 90% or higher pure oxygen source. The actual increased amount you intake on each inhale depends on the method the oxygen is delivered to you i.e.. oxerator or nasal supply hose, how you inhale, either through your nose or mouth, and how deeply you inhale. Talking also lowers your intake.
